Sexy Witch Video No.2

I have put together another slide-show video of images from Sexy Witch posts that cover the late 60s and early 70s, set to Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” (for my first video, see here). The images should be clearer than my previous YouTube video, and I had some fun with effects this time. I hope you enjoy it. I think I will make the next one on 50s pin-up witches.

UPDATE: 18 December 2008: On 7 October 2008 this video was removed from YouTube due to "Terms of Use Violation." My account has therefore been disabled for "violation of the YouTube Community Guidelines" until 7 April 2009. "Terms of Use Violation" means that the video was anonymously flagged as containing inappropriate content, the video was then reviewed by YouTube and removed. There is no way to challenge this decision, and it does not seem to matter that the video was viewed 19,119 times with only one complaint.

It is also not clear on what grounds the video was anonymously flagged, but since it clearly contains no violence or child exploitation, no accidents, dead bodies or similar things intended to shock or disgust, the only likely candidate is that it is too naughty. Ironically, the first bit of feedback I received (below) was to say that the video wasn’t naughty enough, suggesting that the very obvious effort I had made to avoid a “Terms of Use Violation” was a pusillanimous and effete form of self-censorship.

Anyway, why you would watch a video titled “Sexy Witch Video” and then complain that it is a bit naughty is beyond me, and why YouTube would uphold such a complaint after viewing my video is also beyond me. Most likely, it was the flag spam of a self-righteous morality crusader, but upheld due to the fact that the backing track is in copyright. The only way to know for sure is to post the video with no backing track, and post a video of a wall with the backing track and see which one gets blocked first!

Of course, I’ll have to wait until April to try either of these tests. Meanwhile, I re-posted the video (on my old blog here). Lets see how long it lasts!
