Sexy Witch vs Hag in 1949

A number of artists have toyed with the Sexy Witch vs Hag stereotypes, combining them in a single image by having an attractive woman about to don a ‘hag’ mask. In this example by Robert Robinson a woman, clearly on her way to a Halloween Fancy Dress Ball, is buying a broom from a service station attendant. Hanging on her wrist is her hag mask. Note the cresent moons on her dress.
